A number of business leaders recently commented on technological uptake, saying that businesses need to adopt new systems to survive in an age of unprecedented technological change.
The comments came from the annual Economist’s Technology Frontiers conference and one of the most vocal was the Amazon chief technology officer, Werner Vogels, who said that there needs to be a drive to become more experimental.
One of his main points was the proliferation of the web and the reduction in consumer loyalty meant that sales cycles were much shorter than they used to be. One of the main ways to keep up with these smaller cycles was to become more agile with data analysis, using modern technology to help improve efficiency and identity what the consumer wants.
