Business IT Services budgets on the rise

18th February 2013

A worldwide survey of IT managers has found that many UK IT departments are planning to increase spending in 2013, despite the current economic downturn.

The Computer Weekly/TechTarget IT Priorities Survey 2013 involved over 3,200 IT managers, with 76% of them expecting IT budgets to increase, up 57% from the same time last year. The increase in funding is believed to be linked to more positive economic signs and managers are looking to use the extra budget to expand the IT support they offer to help boost business growth further.

Data protection topped the list when it came to new IT initiatives, with money going towards more robust security. The survey found that server virtualisation was also a popular planned project, highlighting the cost cutting popularity of cloud services.

At VPW we're finding an increased demand from small business customers who want the advantages of cloud computing services such as Cloud Hosted E-Mail and Hosted Desktop services but haven't got an IT department and need specialist, affordable help and guidance.
