Teenagers pass on computer skills to pensioners

A new project has been launched at a school in Staffordshire which will see teenagers pass on their IT knowledge to older members of the community.
Known as 'Silver Surfer' sessions, the courses will involve 14 and 15-year-old pupils from Moorside High in Werrington teaching local pensioners who have not had much experience with computers about everything from emails and word processing to photo editing and iPads.
This is not the first time the school has been involved in this kind of intergenerational IT education programme, with similar previous courses leading to students gaining the skills required to save money by purchasing products and services such as insurance online.
