Hosted and Cloud Technology - Agility Mail
Help with your Hosted E-Mail Service, including Outlook, Mobile Access, using Web Mail and sharing information with your team
The Agility Mail service will allow you to send messages up to around 35-40MB in size total, but you should be aware of the following:
(a) E-Mail is not an efficient form of sending large attachments - and the size of your attachments is not the final size of the message sent - because of the way e-mail is designed, the file will be inflated in size by around 10-40% when sending and this counts as part of the limit.
(b) Many e-mail accounts and providers have much smaller limits - many businesses forbid attachments over a few MB in size, and many ISPs for Broadband Services have similar limits.
(c) Users with dialup connections, mobile broadband other types of connection may have slow connections (making the download of your message incredibly slow or unreliable) and/or may be unable to receive the message if it it large.
We recommend that attachments are limited in size to a more practical level of just 2-5MB where possible.
There are ways to reduce the size of attachments being sent, for example:
- You could ZIP or RAR the files up (compressing the files)
- Splitting multiple attachments into several e-mails
You can also consider alternative ways to send files such as Online File Sharing Tools.
Pleasee note that we are unable to increase the maximum sending/receiving limit for any Agility Mail Customer.
