I'm receiving e-mails from companies I no longer want to get, what can I do?

Most legitimate businesses will operate customer/prospect mailing lists that mean you'll receive e-mail. Fortunately the legitimate businesses also will offer some method to opt-out of receiving such communications.

You should look at the bottom of the messages which normally have unsubscribe instructions - it could be as simple as clicking a link, or visiting the companies web site and logging in to your account, finding the option to switch off those e-mails and stop you receiving them.

If in doubt, contact the company and ask them how you remove yourself - any legitimate company will offer the option to stop receiving messages and in the majority of cases are legally required to do so when they originate in the UK.
