Connectivity - Broadband Services
Troubleshooting Broadband Issues, help with connection issues or making changes to your Broadband Service

The repair of my Broadband is delayed due to a BT Openreach MBORC, what's this?

In simple terms, a MBORC stands for "Matters beyond our reasonable control". It's used when the BT Openreach engineering teams declare that they're unable to meet the normal SLA (Service Level Agreement) and response times for jobs.

This normally means that:

- New Installations have longer lead times than usual

- Repair Work may take longer than typical and/or may fail to meet the usual service level times

In addition, it means that even if you have a service that includes enhanced care/service on your broadband service, they may not meet those timescales and no compensation is payable.

MBORCs normally apply as a result of exceptional weather conditions, where Openreach engineers are unable to access an area due to restrictions they cannot bypass and so on.
