Do I need to reinstall or upgrade my AVG software with a new license?

As a general rule, each year there will be a new release of the AVG Software and installing it will give you additional functionality.

By default we normally skip every other new release with our customers, and arrange a one off upgrade of the main software every 2 years (additional costs generally apply for installation/deployment), although you are free to request we perform these upgrades with every license renewal.

AVG Licenses normally work with the current and 1-2 older releases - virus definitions and updates continue for older versions so you do not lose out on the core security functionality.

On rare occasion we may recommend or inform you that a full version upgrade is needed for compatibility - especailly if new releases of Windows come out as this often changes the functionality needed. We'll advise where this is the case.
