Hosted and Cloud Technology - Agility Desktop Web Files
Assistance with the Web Files Service - how to login, information on supported devices and help with common queries and tasks.
Microsoft Office has a feature called "Protected View" - the theory behind this is that it will restrict documents by opening them in a special mode that prevents them being able to harm your computer.
Unfortunately in our experience when used with many services, including Agility Desktop Web Files, it tends to cause more problems and frustration for customers than it solves.
It is possible to turn this feature off if you prefer - please note we strongly recommend you ensure you have good Anti-Virus protection regardless of whether you enable or disable this feature.
To do so, in each Microsoft Office application you don't want this feature:
Office 2010/2013:
1. Click File > Options > Trust Center
2. Click "Trust Center Settings" > Protected View
3. Uncheck "Enable Protected View for files originating from the internet"
4. Close those dialog boxes (click OK etc)
